چکیده

Given a zero-dimensional scheme Z, the higher-rank interpolation problem asks for the classification of slopes μ such that there exists a vector bundle E of slope μ satisfying H(E ⊗ IZ) = 0 for all i. In this paper, we solve this problem for all zero-dimensional monomial schemes in P. As a corollary, we obtain detailed information on the stable base loci of Θ-divisors on the Hilbert scheme of points on P. We prove the correspondence between walls in the Bridgeland stability manifold and walls in the Mori chamber decomposition of the effective cone conjectured in [ABCH] for monomial schemes. We determine the Harder-Narasimhan filtration of ideal sheaves of monomial schemes for suitable Bridgeland stability conditions and, as a consequence, obtain a new resolution better suited for cohomology computations than other standard resolutions such as the minimal free resolution.

New Bases for Polynomial-Based Spaces

Since it is well-known that the Vandermonde matrix is ill-conditioned, while the interpolation itself is not unstable in function space, this paper surveys the choices of other new bases. These bases are data-dependent and are categorized into discretely l2-orthonormal and continuously L2-orthonormal bases. The first one construct a unitary Gramian matrix in the space l2(X) while the late...

Vibration and Stability of Axially Moving Plates by Standard and Spectral Finite Element Methods

Based on classical plate theory, standard and spectral finite element methods are extended for vibration and dynamic stability of axially moving thin plates subjected to in-plane forces. The formulation of the standard method earned through Hamilton’s principle is independent of element type. But for solving numerical examples, an isoparametric quadrilateral element is developed using Lagrange ...

The Birational Geometry of the Moduli Spaces of Sheaves on P2

In this paper, we survey recent developments in the birational geometry of the moduli spaces M(ξ) of semistable sheaves on P following [ABCH], [CH], [CH2], [CHW] and [H]. We discuss the cones of effective, ample and movable divisors on M(ξ). We introduce Bridgeland stability conditions, the main technical tools that precipitated the recent advances, and explain their applications to interpolati...

Birational Geometry of Moduli Spaces of Sheaves and Bridgeland Stability

Moduli spaces of sheaves and Hilbert schemes of points have experienced a recent resurgence in interest in the past several years, due largely to new techniques arising from Bridgeland stability conditions and derived category methods. In particular, classical questions about the birational geometry of these spaces can be answered by using new tools such as the positivity lemma of Bayer and Mac...
